Appointments and Office Hours

Our schedule is based primarily on appointments.  We make every attempt to adhere to this schedule.  Occasionally, emergencies arise that need immediate attention or a patient requires more attention that we had anticipated; in such situations, please be patient.  If you must wait past your scheduled time, you can be assured that the same courtesy will be shown to you if and when you need it.  If you would instead prefer to come in later, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment.  In order to speed up the visits of first-time patients, you may download and fill out the forms available here*add link* to avoid delays based on paperwork when you arrive at the office.

Telephone Calls

If the phone lines are all busy, your call will be answered by the voicemail.  The number to use outside of our normal office hours is *answering service number*.  If you would like the doctor on call to reach you, leave your phone line open and remove call blocking.  If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

Prescription Refills

Calls for a routine prescription sometimes take up to 24 hours to be filled.  Please have your pharmacy fax a request to 770-486-7303.  If you are a current patient of Family Medicine Specialists, you may ***Make into a link*** send an email to request a prescription refill.  In the interest of having the best medical care possible, it is best to have an office visit as often as possible.  Please make every effort to arrange for your refills during office visits and bring your medications to the office with you.  Prescriptions for antibiotics and narcotics do require an office visit.

Medication prior to authorization may take up to one month for insurance approval.  This is usually outside of our control.

On call physicians will not issue prescription refills at night or on the weekends.  If you require a written prescription, please ask for these during a scheduled appointment.
